Blowing a
Kiss
I blew a kiss as I walked
by your window
shed a couple tears of joy
you laugh with me
as you wipe them away
"hush, little girl, I'm going
to take care of you now"
you probably still sleep
wish I was there, snuggled
up to your soft warmth
and sweet smells
another part of me hopes
I catch your eye
as you gaze out the window
sipping coffee
the joy still fresh on
my mind
shared scents still mingled
on our bodies
the gentle way
you twirled our hair together
as our minds and souls joined
I think of wine and roses
butterflies and candles
hummingbirds and all things
light and beautiful
the secrets we've shared
binding to each other
in places no-one else can see
it's a profound peace
a feeling to light our way
as we venture back
into the chaos
I'll be your dreamcatcher
teach me how to dance again
kiss me back and make me all better
hold my hand to make you whole
both of us face the world
as pinnacles of strength
yet in our quiet times
the wonderously fragile
delicate parts of our being
that get hurt and damaged
with daily wear and tear
those places
we must usually keep shut
from the light of day
together, so tenderly
you and I can touch them
awestruck with their beauty
with no consequences to fear
I felt all of this
in the single moment
I blew you a kiss
and sent my spirit with it
