"Litany of Scars - Notes to a Missing Lover" |
Dusk
(Listen
to the poem in RealAudio G2)
something in the dusk
air
new
sweet pungent spice
nostrils awake
gentle grass glimmer
green carpet ripples
with the wind
perked ears hear cricket
buzz
rubber bands
vibrating
music
black curved cross
darts into moon
gull perhaps
speck of encroaching
night
dark colours flare
brilliant
almost touchable
blond edge where sun
lingers
purple-peach weaves just
above
a faery pillow
dew kisses
night - a thousand
lovers
poised to return it
complete - earth stars
air
in holy dance
grass tickles knees
spurs on to join
