"The Early Years" |
Disintegrated
Words
(Listen
to the poem in RealAudio G2)
disintegrated words
-
dust in the empty coffee
cup
my legs pull tighter
under the small cafe
table
your face hard,
untouchable
fairy shoes
leave tracks impossible to
follow
wind blows
erases the
footprints
gathers gale force
swirls the powder
into a violent, whipping
sting
shut my eyes
to black out the
storm
my pulse beats
in blue veins
pppa hammer on damp earth
