Erasure

I've erased you from my computer
the e-mails, the logs, the avatars
- all gone

I've recycled and emptied the trash
scandisked and defragged

the remaining letters and photos
I can't bear to part with
have been tucked away
where only I can find them

but I cannot reformat
- my heart
- my mind
- my soul
all those places
where you now live inside me

your lip and fingerprints
are my secret tatoos
that no-one can erase
